CLARK - FIRST GENERATION

Our CLARK Family History began in AFRICA. Then later, in Georgia, with the union of an AFRICAN-born male slave and a Georgia-born female slave who fathered Europe Clark in 1829. Europe Clark later migrated to Arkansas, by way of Louisiana, sometime prior to 1869.

The oldest Clark family member that I have been able to locate thus far is my g-g-g-grandfather Europe Clark and his wife, g-g-g-grandmother Charlotte Clark, called 'Lottie', living in Union County, Harrison Township, Arkansas in 1870. Harrison Township later became the town of Strong.

THIS iS AN ACCOUNT OF OUR CLARK FAMILY HISTORY aS KNOWN AT THIS TIME

1. (first name unknown ) CLARK was born in AFRICA. Per Europe Clark (son) his father was born in AFRICA and was a slave in Georgia and most likely died in Georgia.

(first name unknown ) CLARK and spouse (first name unknown) had the following children:

child+2 i. Europe CLARK.

child2a ii. Francis CLARK was born in Georgia in 1825. We believe that she is Europe’s sister. She had at least two children. A son named Major was born in Louisiana in 1864 and a son named Malley was born in Arkansas in 1867. We believe that Francis died in Arkansas.
