STROTHER - SECOND GENERATIONTHIS iS AN ACCOUNT OF THE STROTHER FAMILY HISTORY aS KNOWN AT THIS TIME 2. Beverly STROTHER called ‘Bev’, was born in 1850 in Virginia. His name has been misspelled as Bev ‘Strather’ and ‘Strodder’. He resided in Perry County, Alabama as early as 1873. In 1910 Bev Strother (age 60) was living with wife Emma (age 58) (his 2nd wife) and their children, in Perry county, Alabama. By 1910, Beverly and Emma had been married 22 years. In 1910, an Alice Hill and her children Walter (age 6) and Ben (age 3) were also residing with Bev and Emma. Alice is believed to be Beverly’s daughter, either by Emma or his 1st wife, Caroline. By 1920, Beverly Strother (age 73) and wife Emma Strother (age 60) had been married 32 years. Also in 1920, their grandson Offies? Strother (age 18)(name is illegible on supporting documents) was living in their household.
Beverly STROTHER died in Bessemer, Alabama.
Beverly STROTHER was married to Emma
JERIMI on December 26, 1888 in Perry County, Alabama. Emma JERIMI was
born in 1862 in Alabama. Emma (Jerimi) Strother was Beverly's 2nd wife and this
was her 3rd marriage. In 1900 Beverly Strother was living in Perry County,
Alabama with his wife Emma. Also living in their household at that time [1900]
were the following children which were listed as the children of Beverly:
William (age 23), Thomas (age 16), Mandy (15), Mary (14), Henrietta (12),
Zachariah (11), Richard (9), Albert (5), Benjamin (4), and Joseph (2). NOTE: Until there is further
clarity, it is presumed that all children residing with Beverly and Emma in 1900
and born prior to 1888 were not a result of the union between Emma and Beverly,
but instead were either children from Beverly's previous marriage/relationship
or children from Emma's previous marriage. However, all children residing with
Beverly and Emma that were born after 1888 were indeed the biological children
of both Emma and Beverly together. However all children will be listed under
Emma below.
